IPCO provides independent oversight of the use of investigatory powers by intelligence agencies, police forces and other public authorities.
The Right Honourable Sir Brian Leveson was appointed as Investigatory Powers Commissioner in October 2019, under the terms of the Investigatory Powers Act.
