We’ve set out our plan to ensure we have the right mix of minds to deliver our mission
Our mission to help protect the UK will only be successful if we bring the right mix of minds to all aspects of our work. We aim to reflect the full spectrum of the UK's ethnic diversity, at all levels in our organisation.
We have made some progress towards this goal already but by 2030 we’re determined we will be more reflective of the UK's ethnic diversity and at all levels in our organisation. We will build on our existing work to ensure we:
attract more ethnic minority talent from across the country;
further enable our ethnic minority colleagues to flourish in an inclusive environment;
be a truly racially inclusive organisation and take individual and collective action If we ever encounter behaviours that do not fit with our values; and
ensure ethnic minority colleagues always feel:
their difference is welcomed and valued;
their contributions are recognised and rewarded; and
our systems and processes give them an equal chance of success and of reaching the highest levels of our organisation.
Our work has been split into four themes:
Bring In
We’ll recruit the number of ethnic minority staff that we need to be representative of the community that we serve by 2030 and we’ll attract future talent by making stronger links with schools, universities, businesses and beyond.
Bring On
We’ll take more action to further support ethnic minority staff members’ personal and career development.
Bring Together
We’ll build a shared understanding of the behaviours our community values and equip our colleagues to take action to promote racial equality and sustain an inclusive workplace culture where all colleagues can flourish.
Bring Results
We’ll hold ourselves accountable and keep track of our actions to ensure we meet our goals.
