Our information management teams play a vital role in supporting colleagues across the organisation, ensuring information is accessible, secure and effectively managed. From responding to customer enquiries and providing technical support on physical records, to advising on information hosting, audience engagement and intranet development, these roles help colleagues collaborate and work more efficiently. You’ll also contribute to records and information management by delivering training, resolving complex queries and ensuring systems are fit for purpose within your area.
Alongside this, you’ll help shape best practice in secure information handling, offering frameworks, guidance and tools that promote a culture of collaboration while safeguarding sensitive data. You may also advise on information legislation, supporting government departments, reviewing materials for public release and interpreting policy. Working closely with policy and technical teams, including those designing new systems, you’ll embed strong information management and data protection principles, ultimately influencing how large volumes of complex, sensitive information are managed across the organisation.
Language Specialists, use their linguistic expertise to translate and extract key information for our operational teams. You’ll work with a range of foreign language materials, some of which may be technical or specialised in nature.
Your cultural expertise will be invaluable in supporting our operational teams, providing critical insights and intelligence that inform their work. As a subject matter expert, you’ll also contribute to high-level discussions and forums, helping to shape our understanding of key issues. You don’t need formal qualifications, but you will be highly proficient in your language and naturally curious. You'll also be detail-oriented and drawn to problem-solving and communication technologies.

Our work sits at the intersection of mathematics, cryptography and data science, focusing on how advanced security technologies operate in real-world environments. By combining mathematical expertise with computer security skills, we analyse and test the strength of cryptographic systems, identifying weaknesses across products, protocols, hardware and entire systems. From evaluating vulnerabilities using cryptanalytic techniques to advancing public key cryptography research, we collaborate closely with partners to design secure, tailored algorithms and systems. This includes tackling complex mathematical challenges and applying emerging concepts such as quantum systems engineering to keep security at the cutting edge.
Alongside this, we harness modern data science techniques to extract insight from complex and often imperfect data. Using machine learning, graph analysis and statistical modelling, we uncover patterns and enhance information processing and recognition capabilities. Our teams thrive on curiosity, working with unstructured or corrupted data to build innovative solutions. For those starting their careers, we offer dedicated internships and insight programmes in maths and cryptography, providing opportunities to develop skills, tackle real-world challenges and explore a future in this rapidly evolving field.
Mathematics practice
Our mathematicians solve a whole range of complex problems. It’s a case of constantly learning, thinking creatively and being up for the challenge. Are you ready for one now? Take our sample maths test and see how you get on.
