National Language Competition 2025 winners revealed
After a week of brilliant linguistics, we are delighted to announce the winners of our National Language Competition 2025
After an outstanding effort from over 2,700 different teams over the course of the competition week in November, we are delighted to announce that the winners of GCHQ’s National Language Competition 2025 are Team Devoted Jellyfish (Linh, Sophie, Samhitha, Sophie), from Greater London.
There was fierce competition all week, with pupils from schools and home education settings across the UK putting their language skills to the test and battling it out for the top spot on the leaderboard. It was a closely fought race right up to the very end, with teams pulling out all the stops to crack codes and solve a huge variety of tricky language puzzles.
The winners will shortly be invited to GCHQ in Cheltenham to collect their National Language Competition 2025 trophy, and meet with Director GCHQ Anne Keast-Butler.
