GCHQ Cyber Zone attracts thousands of visitors at Cheltenham Science Festival
We were proud to return for our fifteenth year at the Science Festival
It was great to take part in Cheltenham Science Festival again this year and to meet so many enthusiastic youngsters keen to have a go on our interactive games designed to test problem solving and cyber security skills.
For the first time our stand was in the GCHQ Cyber Zone and we had over 14,000 thousand visitors during the week. Our games included an upgraded version of our hugely popular ‘Vault’ which involves solving a series of maths and code-breaking questions against the clock to open the safe and win a prize.
The ‘Vault’ has been designed and built by three of our volunteers in their spare time and we had queues of children (and grown-ups!) each day all keen to test their problem solving skills. Some of our apprentices had also made two games for our stand this year as part of their course projects and these were really popular too.
It was a brilliant week and a real pleasure to support Cheltenham Science Festival which does so much to inspire the next generation of young scientists.
