The new National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) became operational on 3 October 2016.
The NCSC will be the UK’s authority on cyber security. It is part of GCHQ and will bring together CESG – the Information Security arm of GCHQ – the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure, CERT-UK, and the Centre for Cyber Assessment, to form one organisation that will simplify the current cyber security landscape.
The NCSC will begin the move to its London HQ in Victoria later this year, and will be led by Chief Executive Ciaran Martin, with a team of approximately 700 people.
