This being National Apprenticeship Week, you can hear what it’s like first-hand from some of our apprentices as they talk about their experience of being a Higher Apprentice in our podcasts.

Although our Apprenticeship Schemes aren’t open for applications until September, you can learn all about them at any time. We offer two Higher Apprenticeship Schemes; both consist of university-delivered education, specific technical training, and work-based placements and projects.

Our two year programme based in Cheltenham leads to a foundation degree in Communications Systems, Security and Computing, and a level-4 diploma in IT Professional Competence upon successful completion. We also offer Technical Apprenticeships in Software Engineering based in Manchester; a three year apprenticeship with successful completion leading to a BSc degree.

On successfully completing the programme, our apprentices then have the opportunity to apply for exciting roles within the intelligence agencies where they will be helping to build, expand and further advance our technical capability - and our ability to tackle threats to national security.

Apprentices have the opportunity to take on real business challenges in areas such as software, network or telecoms engineering, information assurance, or cyber operations. Full training and support is given throughout the programme, as well as a salary and all the benefits you’d expect from a Civil Service organisation.
