The popularity and success of the GCHQ Puzzle Book was well publicised during December. With 100% of GCHQ's royalties being donated to charity, Director Robert Hannigan recently passed the first cheque to the Royal Foundation's 'Heads Together' campaign for use in supporting the vital work of Heads Together and its partner mental health charities.
As well as money raised through book sales, GCHQ staff donated around £4000 in cash donations for Heads Together during December. Book sales soared around Christmas when it reached Number 1 in the Amazon Book Charts.
Director Robert Hannigan said "I am delighted with the success of the book, and grateful to the public for their support. The money raised goes to a very important cause and will help organisations who work every day to change the conversation around mental health, and make people's lives better.
"We are proud that our contribution will help them all to continue this vital work. Thank you for buying the book and helping to change the conversation about mental health. All of us at GCHQ hope everyone has enjoyed it".
