Following on from the success of our GCHQ Puzzle Book - 'the surprise Christmas hit' of 2016 (The Bookseller), our puzzle masters have created a new set of brainteasers to mark our Centenary year in 2019. The GCHQ Puzzle Book II has been published by Michael Joseph on 18 October 2018.

We were delighted with the success of our first puzzle book, which raised over £330,000 for the Heads Together campaign, an important cause to change the conversation around mental health.

The second book offers a huge range of new puzzles, with even more at the much-needed 'easy' level, for those who are more beginner than aspiring intelligence officer or cryptic wizard. And with that little more practice, and tips on how to think like a codebreaker, people might discover that they can crack the most complex puzzles that GCHQ's most brilliant minds are capable of creating.

Daniel Bunyard, Non-fiction Publisher at Michael Joseph said: "We couldn't be more delighted to be publishing another book of puzzles from GCHQ, particularly as part of such a momentous anniversary for the organisation. The 2016 book was the Christmas stocking filler of choice, and we're hoping that this new batch will be as fun, mind-bending, and rewarding as before."

Alongside authentic entrance exams, and a number of new puzzles, the book also includes anecdotes about the people, technology, and partnerships that are central to GCHQ's mission. Readers will learn about the power of teamwork, feats of ingenuity, and how the men and women of GCHQ have tackled the seemingly impossible to keep the country safe for 100 years.

Available now from bookstores and online.
