GCHQ and the Big Bang
News article - 21 Mar 2014
The Big Bang event aims to inspire young people to follow careers in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths). With an estimated footfall of 75,000 visitors over the four days we were certainly kept busy!
GCHQ staff, including our industrial year students (present and former), showcased a number of their interactive games - all designed and built to challenge and entertain both children and adults alike. These included a 3D-printed robotic arm, an code-breaking App, a safe which you could open by answering a series of questions correctly (with the updated tablet version almost completed), NetAttack (a fast-paced reaction game) and last but not least, a demonstration of the 'physics of communicating'.
