Sir Iain Lobban, Director GCHQ, appeared in public at the first open Intelligence and Security Committee of Parliament (ISC) evidence session on 07 November 2013. He sat alongside his counterparts, Andrew Parker, Director General of MI5, and Sir John Sawers, Chief of the Secret Intelligence Service (MI6).

The three Agency Heads have been before the ISC on many occasions, and the Committee's scrutiny forms a key part of Agency oversight. This, however, was the first time that TV cameras and press had been allowed in to bear witness.
