GCHQ sets a challenge for HACK Manchester

Are you ready to use your technology skills to help the emergency services in a coding competiton?

GCHQ are pleased to announce they will be sponsoring the HACK Manchester 2017 event once again.

The HACK Manchester event is a coding competition. Each team of four, uses their innovation, coding and technical skills to achieve the challenge and present their finished working product 24 hours later.

Held successfully for a number of years now, as part of the Manchester Science Festival, this year it is being held at the Museum of Science and Industry

GCHQ is supporting The Junior event (ages 8 - 17 years)  which is being held 23 - 24 October. We will also be setting the challenge for the Senior (18+) event, being held 28 - 29 October.

 

The GCHQ Challenge

Your challenge is to develop a new way to send information to the emergency services. This could involve communicating data in a secure or anonymous way, verifying the received information is genuine or interpreting and analysing information so that it provides new insight.

This could be anything from a mobile application to report issues, a back end system to validate and process received data or anything in between.

We can't wait to see what you create!!

 

The Prize

Each member of the winning team will receive a 64gb Apple TV 4K media streamer and a GCHQ Puzzle Book.
