Cheltenham, well known for its local spas and tree-lined
promenades, attracted the rich and famous as far back as the early
18th Century.
In the 1820's and 30's it gained a reputation as the largest and
most complete Regency town in the country.
The decision to opt out of the 60's building boom was a wise move
and today everybody can enjoy the grace and grandeur of the town's
fabulous architecture and beautiful parks, where many of the larger
festivals and events are now celebrated.
