The people we want have to be team players. Sound
communication skills will be pivotal in ensuring the success of
the IT team at GCHQ.
You will be expected to be able to communicate, to a variety of
audiences, in both technical and non-technical terms. It is possible
that a you will also have the responsibility of junior staff - this
will involve managing their day to day workload, ensuring any developmental
needs are met and encouraging your staff to take a full part in
the team.
We are looking for well-motivated people with a sound academic
record, good technical, analytical and organisational skills, and
the ability to communicate well both verbally and on paper. You
should be capable of working as a member of a team and be able to
deliver results with the minimum of supervision.
You should have or expect to attain by the summer of 2005 either:
- a first or second class honours degree (or equivalent) in an
IT-related discipline, e.g. Computer Science or Information Technology,
- or a first or second class honours joint degree (or equivalent)
which includes an IT related subject,
- or an MSc in an IT-related subject following on from any first
or second class honours degree,
- or a first or second class honours joint degree (or equivalent)
Business Studies degree, which includes an IT-related subject,
- or an HNC/HND (preference given to a merit or distinction) in
an IT-related subject plus a minimum of 2 years relevant work
experience
