GCHQ and CESG have a variety of senior technical
roles within IT, engineering and technical management.
Vacancies occur mainly in the areas of Software Development, Systems
Engineering, Networking and Technical/Software Project Management.
However, other opportunities exist for high calibre candidates who
can display technical expertise allied to IT, engineering and communications.
A small number of vacancies also occur within CESG in the Certification
Body (CB) of the UK IT Security Evaluation and Certification (ITSEC)
Scheme. The CB team is responsible for the certification of IT security
features of systems and products (eg operating systems, databases,
networking products, firewalls, hardware chips etc.), based upon
the results of an independent evaluation undertaken at Commercial
Licensed Evaluation Facilities (CLEF).
