"As a senior technologist at GCHQ, I manage a number of technologically complex projects involving software and systems design and networking. In this role I am dealing with internal customers and external agencies, as well as presenting my ideas at a senior level. I lead a team of dedicated individuals responsible for co-ordinating GCHQ's technical response to changing target technology, providing a focus for mapping GCHQ's business requirements to technical capability and encouraging a consistent and strategic approach to the provision of GCHQ's IT services. To ensure the successful delivery of software products my team also co-ordinates the integration of commercial off-the-shelf software packages into systems. My experience to date will be invaluable as we approach the move from two existing sites to one purpose-built facility in Cheltenham. These are exciting times for the department - this move represents one of the most complex IT challenges ever undertaken in the UK." |
