The Press Office operates as part of the organisation's
Corporate Communications Unit and is the public face of GCHQ.
Its staff deal with a range of queries and requests from the public,
the media, other government departments and parliament. They also
take a proactive stance on certain issues, such as the release of
press notices, liaison with local media outlets and participation
in local events in the community.
Although it is 'outward facing', the press office is closely linked
to all internal communications initiatives within GCHQ, including
the in-house publications that are circulated to the staff.
