Normal working hours will be from 10 am to 5.30 pm with an hour and a half off for lunch; Saturdays from 10 am to 1 pm.
Certain of the Clerical Staff, specially detailed by the Head of the G.C. & C.S. will work from 9.30 am to 5 pm daily; Saturdays from 9.30
am to 1 pm.
The Office will normally be closed officially on Sundays and Public Holidays.
Members of the Established Staff are entitled to 36 working days leave of absence during the Calendar Year. After ten years' service this is increased
to 48 working days.
Members of the Clerical Staff are entitled to 18 working days leave of absence during the Calendar Year.
The above periods will be calculated exclusive of Sundays and Public Holidays, as determined by the Foreign Office, and of periods of absence
through illness.
All request for leave of absence must be made to the Head of the G.C. & C.S. and his sanction obtained before the leave is taken.
Before proceeding on leave, all members of the G.C. & C.S. will leave the address at which they may be communicated with during their leave
with the Head of the G.C. & C.S.
In the event of a Proclamation of National Emergency, or of the Mobilisation of the Armed Forces of the Crown, any member of the G.C. & C.S.
on leave will immediately return to work by the quickest route.
