Prime Minister visits GCHQ Cheltenham

Director GCHQ, Iain Lobban, welcomed the Prime Minister, the Rt Hon David Cameron MP to GCHQ, Cheltenham today.
 
This was the Prime Minister's first visit to GCHQ and accordingly he was given a full tour of the iconic GCHQ 'doughnut' building and briefed on GCHQ's intelligence and security mission. He was also briefed on the scope of the rapidly emerging cyber threat and the important work that GCHQ is currently undertaking to protect and defend the UK’s interests.
 
Iain Lobban, Director GCHQ said: "I was delighted to welcome the Prime Minister to GCHQ today and brief him on the vital work we do, in particular dealing with the growing cyber threat to the UK. Getting cyber right is vital to the UK's interests. We don't underestimate the scale of that challenge but we must get it right, alongside our partners across government and industry."
